The Dog Who Saved a Zombie

Max's golden fur glistened under the bright summer sun as he bounded toward the crystal-blue lake. His owner, a young girl named Lily, watched from the shore, waving enthusiastically. Max wasn't just an ordinary dog – he was the best swimming dog in the whole neighborhood.

Diving into the cool, refreshing water, Max paddled gracefully, his paws moving like tiny propellers. He loved the feeling of water flowing through his fur, making him feel light and free. Suddenly, something caught his eye near the old wooden dock – a thick, black cable snaking through the shallow water.

Curious, Max swam closer and noticed something strange. Beneath the water's surface, he saw what looked like a green zombie fish! It wasn't scary at all – just a little fish with pale scales and sleepy eyes, stuck near the heavy cable.

The zombie fish wiggled sadly, trapped by the fishing line wrapped around the cable. Max knew what to do. With gentle teeth, he carefully pulled at the tangled fishing line, working patiently until the little fish was free.

"Thank you, brave dog!" the zombie fish bubbled, swimming around Max in happy circles. "I'm Zelly, the friendliest zombie fish in this lake!"

Max's tail wagged underwater as they became instant friends. Zelly showed Max all the magical places in the lake – the secret garden of rainbow seaweed, the sparkling cave of sleeping turtles, and the hidden spring where the water tasted like strawberry juice.

Every day after that, Max would go swimming, and Zelly would be waiting. They discovered that being different – even being a zombie fish or a dog who loved water – was what made their friendship so special. Lily couldn't see Zelly, but she noticed how happy Max became after each swim, and that's what mattered most.

Sometimes the best friends are the ones you least expect to meet, especially when you're brave enough to help someone in need.
