The Dog Who Ran Like Lightning

Emma loved rainy days. While other kids stayed inside, she pressed her nose against the window, watching the clouds paint pictures across the sky. But today was different. Today, the strangest dog appeared at her door.

He was golden with patches of white, and his eyes sparkled like stars. Emma opened the door slowly, and the dog danced around her legs, his tail wagging so fast it seemed to hum. "Hello there," she whispered, kneeling down. The dog licked her cheek, and something magical happened—tiny sparks danced between them, harmless and glowing like fairy lights.

"Come see something," the dog seemed to say with his happy barks. He bolted outside, and Emma, curious and brave, followed him into the storm.

The dog began running across the meadow, but this wasn't ordinary running. With every leap, trails of beautiful lightning followed him—pink and purple, blue and green, swirling like ribbons in the wind. Emma laughed in wonder and started running too.

The faster they ran, the more magnificent the lightning became. It wasn't scary like the lightning in storms. It was warm and friendly, lighting up the rain with colors no one had ever seen. Other children peeked from their windows, amazed by the magical light show.

Emma ran until she was breathless, her heart full of joy. The dog circled back, nudging her hand with his wet nose. She realized then that courage brings friends, and sometimes the most wonderful things appear when you're brave enough to explore.

From that day on, Emma wasn't lonely. Whenever storms came, she and the dog would run together, painting the sky with rainbow lightning. She named him Spark, and they taught the whole town that magic exists for those who believe in wonder.
