The Dog Who Made Friendship Vitamins
Lily was bored. Every morning, her mom handed her a chalky **vitamin** tablet that tasted like pretend strawberries. 'For your health,' Mom would say. But Lily wanted magic, not chalky tablets.
One sunny afternoon, a scruffy golden **dog** appeared in her backyard. He wasn't ordinary—his fur sparkled like he'd rolled in glitter, and his eyes held the same warm light as the sun.
'Hello!' Lily called, but the dog only wagged his tail and began **running** in circles.
Round and round he went, faster and faster, his golden blurring leaving trails of light. Lily laughed and joined him. They ran together until Lily was dizzy and giggling.
Suddenly, the dog stopped. Where his paws had touched the grass, a shimmering blue **pool** appeared. It hadn't been there before!
The dog dipped his paw in the water. Ripples spread across the surface, each one glowing with rainbow colors.
Lily stepped closer. The water didn't look like normal pool water—it sparkled and hummed, as if it were alive with magic.
'Go ahead,' the dog seemed to say with his warm eyes.
Lily dipped her finger in. The water was warm and cool at the same time. When she touched it, sparkles danced up her arm. She laughed, and the sparkles laughed with her—tiny chiming sounds like fairy bells.
The dog barked happily and did a little dance. Then—*poof!*—he vanished, leaving only the magical pool behind.
Lily returned every day after school. She discovered that the pool water gave her something special: not energy or strength exactly, but a warm, happy feeling in her chest that made everything more fun. Math homework became a game. Her vegetables tasted better. Even her grumpy neighbor seemed nicer.
She realized the dog had left her a different kind of vitamin—a friendship vitamin, made of running, playing, and magic.
Months passed. The magical pool faded, but Lily never forgot. She started running everywhere, creating her own sparkle trails. Other children joined her. Soon the whole neighborhood was running and laughing together.
Sometimes, late in the afternoon, Lily would spot a golden dog watching from afar, his fur glittering in the sunset. He'd wag his tail once, then disappear.
Lily would smile and keep running, spreading her own magic—because the best vitamins aren't tablets at all. They're the ones you make yourself, with friendship, laughter, and a little bit of running under the sun.
