The Dog Who Knew Secrets

Lily loved Saturday mornings. That's when she played padel with her dad at the sunny park courts. Padel was like tennis, but with walls you could hit the ball against—BOING, BOING, BOING!

But this Saturday, something strange was happening. Every time Lily hit the ball, her fluffy golden dog Baxter would bark three times. WOOF, WOOF, WOOF!

"Baxter, you're silly!" Lily giggled, wiping sweat from her forehead. The ball bounced off the blue wall, and Baxter barked again. But this time, he ran to the fence and scratched at it, whining.

"What is it, boy?" Lily's dad knelt down. Baxter kept barking, then ran in a circle, then barked again.

Suddenly, Lily noticed something. Baxter wasn't just barking randomly. He was sending a message!

"Dad, I think Baxter's trying to be a spy!" Lily whispered. "Like in the movies!"

They followed Baxter around the fence. Behind some bushes, something glittered in the grass—a silver necklace with a heart charm.

"That belongs to Mrs. Chen from the court next door!" Lily gasped. "She lost it yesterday and was so sad!"

Baxter wagged his tail proudly. He'd found the treasure!

"You're not just a dog," Lily hugged him tight. "You're a spy dog! A secret agent with a super nose!"

That afternoon, they returned the necklace. Mrs. Chen cried happy tears and gave Baxter an extra treat. From that day on, Lily and Baxter became the best spy team in the neighborhood. During padel practice, Baxter learned special barks for different discoveries: one bark for balls, two for lost toys, and three for real treasures.

Lily learned something important that day: sometimes the best heroes have four legs, a fluffy tail, and a nose that never misses a mystery. And true friends help each other, whether they're solving mysteries or just playing games in the sun.

Now every Saturday, Lily plays padel with her dad while Baxter keeps watch. You never know what secrets a good dog might find!

The End.
