The Dog Who Could Fly

doghaircable

Lily lived in a tall apartment building where nothing exciting ever happened. Or so she thought, until the morning she noticed something strange about the thick black cable outside her window.

"What is that?" Lily pressed her nose against the glass. A scruffy golden dog was sitting on the roof next door, and somehow, the dog's long shaggy hair had gotten tangled around the cable. The dog looked miserable.

Lily rushed outside and up the fire escape. "Don't worry, I'll help you!"

The dog wagged its tail hopefully. As Lily carefully untangled the matted hair from the cable, something magical happened. Wherever her fingers touched the dog's fur, little sparks of color danced through the air.

"You're not just any dog, are you?" Lily whispered.

The dog barked happily and suddenly—they were floating! The cable began to glow like a rainbow, and the dog's hair flowed upward as if underwater. Lily held on tight as they soared above the city.

"Where are we going?" she laughed.

They visited clouds that tasted like cotton candy, raced shooting stars, and met moon rabbits who made cheese from craters. The dog's magical hair created a warm glow that guided them through every adventure.

But as morning approached, the cable began to pull them back.

"Home already?" Lily said sadly.

The dog nuzzled her hand, and she understood—the best adventures are the ones you share with friends.

Every day after school, Lily and her magical dog would touch the cable together, and wherever their adventures took them, they knew they could always find their way home.

Some things are better than flying alone: having someone special who believes in magic with you.
