The Dog Who Caught Lightning

Bolt was no ordinary dog. While other dogs chased balls and sticks, Bolt chased storms. He loved the rumble of thunder and the crackle of electricity in the air. His owner, little Lily, called him her "thunder-puppy" because Bolt would dance and bark excitedly whenever dark clouds gathered.

One afternoon, a terrible storm rolled over their small town. Rain poured down in sheets, and the old cable car that ran up the mountain groaned and swayed in the fierce wind. Lily and her family huddled safely inside, but Bolt had spotted something strange near the old cable station.

A massive lightning bolt had struck the thick metal cable, and instead of disappearing, the lightning seemed trapped there, glowing and shimmering like a thousand fireflies caught in a jar.

Bolt's curiosity overwhelmed him. He crept closer, his golden fur standing on end. The trapped lightning pulsed with a friendly warmth, calling to him. When Bolt's nose gently touched the glowing cable, something magical happened. The lightning didn't hurt him at all — instead, it wrapped around him like a warm, sparkling blanket!

Suddenly, Bolt could understand what the lightning was saying. It was a message from the Storm Cloud Kingdom, where a little cloud princess was lost and scared. The lightning had been trying to find someone brave enough to help.

Bolt barked joyfully and followed the cable upward, his paws leaving glowing paw prints on the ground. Higher and higher he climbed, with the lightning as his guide, until he reached the clouds. There he found Princess Nimbus, crying because she couldn't find her way home.

Brave Bolt licked her face, and his kindness made her glow with happiness. Together, they followed the lightning cable back down, and the grateful storm clouds rewarded Bolt with a special gift — from that day on, the tip of his tail glowed softly whenever someone nearby needed help or kindness.

Lily never knew why her dog's tail sometimes glowed like a tiny night-light, but she loved him all the more for it. Bolt had learned that true courage isn't about being fearless — it's about helping others even when you're a little bit scared yourself.
