The Dog Who Befriended a Zombie

Barnaby was a golden retriever with floppy ears that bounced when he ran. He loved nothing more than chasing butterflies through Sunnyville, his tail wagging like a happy metronome.

One foggy evening, Barnaby heard a groan coming from the old graveyard. Curious, he crept closer and saw something strange - a zombie was sitting on a bench, crying. But this wasn't a scary zombie. It was small and green, with patchy overalls and a flower poking from its pocket.

"Are you okay?" Barnaby asked (yes, Barnaby could talk to magical creatures).

The zombie sniffled. "Everyone runs away from me. I just want a friend."

Barnaby's heart melted. "I'll be your friend! I'm Barnaby. What's your name?"

"Ziggy," the zombie whispered. They talked all night under the twinkling stars, sharing stories and becoming the best of friends.

The next morning, Barnaby brought Ziggy to meet his human, a little girl named Sophie. Sophie wasn't scared - she was delighted! But Ziggy looked pale and tired.

"My zombie body needs special zombie vitamins," Ziggy explained sadly. "They only grow on Moonberry Mountain, and I'm too weak to climb there."

Barnaby and Sophie exchanged determined looks. "We'll help you!"

Together, the three friends climbed Moonberry Mountain. The path wound through sparkling caves and over rainbow bridges. Finally, at the summit, they found glowing orange berries - the legendary zombie vitamins!

Ziggy ate the berries and his green skin began to shine with health. He did a happy dance, his flower blooming brighter than ever.

From that day on, Ziggy was the friendliest zombie in all of Sunnyville. He helped neighbors carry groceries, told funny jokes to make people smile, and even started a zombie garden where special plants grew back every time you picked them.

Barnaby learned something wonderful that day: the best friends are the ones you least expect, and true friendship means helping each other - even if it means climbing a mountain for zombie vitamins.
