The Dog Who Befriended a Bear
In a cozy little cottage at the edge of the Whispering Woods lived a small golden dog named Sunny. Sunny had soft fur that felt like warm sunshine and a tail that never stopped wagging. Every morning, Sunny's owner, a kind grandmother named Mrs. Willow, would give him a special treat. It was a tiny, shiny vitamin shaped like a star.
"This is your magic star vitamin," Mrs. Willow would say with a wink. "It gives you the energy for big adventures!"
One sunny afternoon, Sunny was trotting through the forest when he heard a sad rumbling sound. Following the noise, he discovered a enormous brown bear sitting by a berry bush, looking very glum.
"Hello, Mr. Bear!" Sunny barked happily. "Why are you so sad?"
The bear sighed, and his breath smelled like honey. "I'm feeling very weak and tired today. I don't have enough energy to climb the mountain to visit my family."
Sunny's ears perked up. He remembered what Mrs. Willow had said about his magic star vitamin. Digging into his fur collar, Sunny pulled out the shiny vitamin he had saved.
"This magic star vitamin gives me energy for adventures," Sunny explained. "But you need it more than I do today. Friends help friends!"
The bear's eyes grew wide with wonder. Carefully, Sunny nudged the star vitamin toward the bear. The bear swallowed it, and suddenly — WHOOSH! — his fur began to sparkle like tiny stars.
"I feel wonderful!" the bear exclaimed, jumping up with joy. "Thank you, little friend!"
That day, something magical happened. The bear carried Sunny on his strong shoulders all the way up the mountain. From the top, they could see the whole world — green forests, blue rivers, and fields of flowers stretching to the horizon.
They became the best of friends. Every day, Sunny would visit the bear, and the bear would let Sunny ride on his back through the forest. The other animals were amazed to see a dog and a bear playing together.
Mrs. Willow smiled when she heard Sunny's story. "You see, Sunny?" she said. "The real magic wasn't the vitamin. It was your kind heart. True friendship is the greatest magic of all."
And Sunny, with his ever-wagging tail, knew she was right. Some vitamins give you energy, but kindness gives you something much better — friends who will carry you to the top of mountains.
