The Crystal Pyramid's Secret
Maya and Leo were best friends who loved adventures. Every Saturday, they explored the woods behind their houses, looking for magic.
One sunny afternoon, Maya's long black hair caught on something hidden in the bushes. She pulled gently and discovered an old metal cable buried under fallen leaves.
"This cable goes somewhere!" Maya said, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.
They followed the cable deeper into the forest. It snaked over rocks and under tree roots, leading them to a secret clearing they'd never found before.
There, gleaming in a patch of sunlight, stood a small crystal pyramid no bigger than a shoebox.
"It's beautiful!" Leo whispered, reaching out to touch it.
"Wait!" squeaked a tiny voice. "Don't touch yet!"
A tiny creature popped out from behind the pyramid. It had blue fur, enormous ears, and wore a little jacket.
"I'm Pip!" said the creature. "I'm the pyramid spy. I watch over the Magic Pyramid of Friendship."
"Magic Pyramid?" Maya asked.
Pip nodded. "This pyramid grants one wish every hundred years. But only to friends who prove they care about each other more than anything else."
The pyramid began to glow. A voice echoed: "What would you wish for?"
Maya thought about all the things she wanted—a new bike, ice cream every day, endless video games. But then she looked at Leo, who had given her his favorite cookies when she was sad, who always shared his toys, who never left anyone out.
"I wish," Maya said, "that Leo would have the happiest birthday ever!"
Leo gasped. "Really? But what about what you want?"
Pip smiled. "That's the real magic. When you wish for your friend's happiness, the pyramid grants both wishes!"
Suddenly, the cable they'd followed began to glow. It pulled them both into the warmest, tingly hug they'd ever felt.
"Friendship," Pip said, "is the strongest magic of all."
That day, Maya and Leo learned that the best wishes aren't the ones we make for ourselves—they're the ones we make for each other.
And every Saturday after that, they visited Pip and the crystal pyramid. Not to make more wishes, but just to say hello to their little blue friend.
