The Crystal Pyramid Pool
Lily loved visiting her grandmother's old house. It was full of mysterious things, but nothing compared to what she found in the dusty attic on a rainy Saturday afternoon.
Behind a stack of boxes, Lily discovered a small golden pyramid no bigger than her hand. It shimmered with an inner light, and strange symbols glowed along its sides. When she touched it, the pyramid pulsed warmly, and her grandmother's cat, Muffin, suddenly appeared beside her.
"You found it!" Muffin said, surprising Lily by actually speaking. "The Portal Pyramid!"
"You can talk?" Lily gasped, her curly hair bouncing as she jumped back.
"The pyramid lets me," Muffin explained. "And it can show us something wonderful. Hold my tail and close your eyes!"
Lily hesitated, then grabbed Muffin's fluffy tail. The pyramid's light grew brighter, and suddenly they weren't in the attic anymore.
They stood beside a pool unlike anything Lily had ever seen. The water was crystal clear and filled with tiny stars that swirled like glitter. Above them, the sky was purple with three moons.
"This is the Moon Pool," Muffin said. "It shows you what's in your heart."
Lily peered into the magical pool. The water changed colors—first blue like calm, then pink like love, then green like curiosity. She saw her reflection, but it showed her as a brave explorer, a kind friend, and someone who helped others.
"What do you see most?" Muffin asked gently.
Lily thought about how she shared her toys, helped her little brother learn to tie his shoes, and comforted her friend when she was sad.
"I see... kindness," Lily whispered.
The pool glowed golden, and tiny fish made of pure light swam to the surface. They tickled her fingers when she reached in.
"The pool shows your true self," Muffin said. "And you, Lily, have a beautiful heart."
Suddenly, the pyramid's light faded, and they were back in the attic. The little golden pyramid looked ordinary now, but Lily knew better.
"Can we visit again?" she asked Muffin.
"Whenever you want," the cat purred. "The magic inside you is what makes the portal work."
That night, Lily brushed her hair before bed, smiling at her reflection. She had discovered something more magical than any portal—that the best adventures start with a kind heart, and that true magic was inside her all along.
