The Crystal Pyramid Cat

Lily loved running through the meadow behind her house, her bare feet dancing over the soft grass. One rainy afternoon, gray clouds gathered overhead like fluffy mountains.

"Come inside!" her mother called. But something shimmered in the distant forest—a brilliant flash, like a tiny piece of fallen lightning.

Curious, Lily ran toward the glow. Pushing through dripping ferns, she gasped. There stood a crystal pyramid, no taller than her knee, pulsing with gentle blue light. And curled protectively beside it sat the most beautiful cat she'd ever seen, with silver fur that sparkled like starlight.

"You found us," the cat whispered, in a voice like tinkling bells. "I've been waiting for a friend."

"Who are you?" Lily asked, reaching out slowly.

"I'm Luna, guardian of the Wishing Pyramid," the cat explained. "Every hundred years, during a storm with magic lightning, someone pure of heart discovers us. They receive one wish."

Lily's heart raced. She could wish for anything! A million toys? The ability to fly? But then she thought of her elderly neighbor, Mrs. Chen, who couldn't walk in her beloved garden anymore.

"I wish for Mrs. Chen to dance in her garden again," Lily said without hesitation.

The pyramid blazed brighter. Lightning flashed across the sky, forming the shape of dancing cats. Luna purred loudly, her silver fur glowing.

"A selfless wish," Luna said. "Your heart is as magical as this pyramid."

The next morning, Lily watched from her window as Mrs. Chen twirled joyfully between her rosebushes, her face radiant. The crystal pyramid had vanished, but sometimes, when lightning flickered during summer storms, a silver cat appeared briefly at Lily's window, winking before disappearing into the night.

Lily never told anyone about her secret. But every time she helped someone, she remembered Luna's words: true magic lives in kind hearts.
