The Crystal Pool of Wishes

Lily loved exploring the forest behind her house. One rainy afternoon, she followed a rainbow path she'd never seen before. It led to a hidden clearing where a magical pool shimmered like liquid diamonds. The water glowed with soft blue light, and tiny silver fish swam beneath the surface.

An old woman with wild white hair that sparkled like starlight appeared beside her. "Welcome, child," she said gently. "This is the Crystal Pool of Wishes. But beware – it grants only one wish to those who are pure of heart."

Lily's eyes widened. She could wish for anything! A castle made of candy? A pet dragon? Infinite toys? But then she thought of her friend Max, who had been sick in bed for weeks. The doctors said he needed something special to get better.

"I wish for Max to be healthy again," Lily said without hesitation.

The old woman smiled and reached into her pocket. She pulled out a golden vitamin that sparkled with magic. "True friendship is the most powerful magic of all," she said, dropping it into the pool. The water swirled with rainbow colors, then formed into a beautiful crystal vial.

"Take this to Max," the woman instructed. "Brew it into warm tea with honey. But remember – the magic works best when given with love."

Lily ran all the way to Max's house, her heart pounding with excitement. She carefully prepared the tea just as she'd been told, and Max drank every drop. By morning, Max's cheeks were pink again, and he could sit up and laugh.

The two friends returned to the forest clearing, but the rainbow path had disappeared. Yet sometimes, when the sun hit the pond just right, they could still see it shimmer with magic. Lily learned that day that the best wishes aren't the ones we make for ourselves – they're the ones we make for the people we love.
