The Cloud Who Forgot to Float
Mia was the only kid in her class who couldn't swim. Every summer, while her friends splashed in the community pool, she sat on the edge with her feet in the water, wishing she were brave.
One hot afternoon, something magical happened. A fluffy white cloud named Clementine drifted so low that her wispy tail dipped into the pool. Clementine looked sad—she was slowly sinking!
"I forgot my float-up vitamin!" Clementine cried. "Without it, clouds can't stay in the sky. The Vitamin Garden is past the rainbow, and I'm too heavy to fly there."
Mia's eyes widened. "I'll help you!"
"But it's far," said Clementine. "We'll have to swim through the Sky River to reach the rainbow bridge."
Mia trembled. "I—I don't know how to swim."
Clementine smiled mysteriously. "The Sky River isn't like water. It's made of wishes and dreams. Anyone can swim there—if they have a friend by their side."
Hand in hand with Clementine, Mia stepped into the sparkling blue air. To her amazement, she didn't sink! She was floating, then gliding, then swimming through swirls of pink and gold. They passed islands made of cotton candy and fields where stars grew like flowers.
Finally, they reached the Vitamin Garden, where glowing crystals hung from moon vines. Clementine ate one sparkle-vitamin and instantly bobbed upward like a balloon.
"Thank you, Mia!" she cheered. "You were brave even though you were scared. That's the real magic."
Back at the pool, Mia realized her fear was gone. She plunged into the water and began swimming, surrounded by new friends. But sometimes, when she looked up at a particularly fluffy cloud drifting by, she'd wink—and Clementine would sprinkle down a little extra courage, just because that's what friends do.
