The Cloud Swimming Spy
Lila had a secret. While other children swam in pools or oceans, Lila swam in clouds.
Every night, she'd climb to her window sill, take a deep breath, and dive straight into the fluffy white clouds floating past her bedroom. They were soft and cool, like swimming in cotton candy that had been sprinkled with starlight.
Up there, Lila became a cloud spy. She peeked through cloud windows to watch dreamers sleep. She spied on rainbow painters who colored the sunset. She followed moonbeams like they were shiny trails.
One cloudy evening, something peculiar caught her eye. A magnificent bull with a coat like storm clouds and horns made of lightning was pushing a shiny silver cart across the sky. But he wasn't just any bull — he was THE CLOUD BULL, keeper of the world's weather!
Lila swam closer, curious as any good spy would be. But then she spotted trouble. Three trickster wind spirits were sneaking up behind the gentle bull, planning to tip over his cart and spill all the tomorrow's sunshine!
The Cloud Bull worked so carefully, carrying light for the next day's dawn. If those mischievous winds succeeded, tomorrow would stay dark forever.
Lila knew what she had to do. Swimming faster than she ever had before, she dove between the clouds and created a whirlpool of wind that spun the trickers round and round until they tumbled away, defeated.
The Cloud Bull turned, his lightning horns glowing softly with gratitude. "You're a brave little spy," he rumbled like distant thunder. "Thank you for protecting tomorrow's sunshine."
He pressed a small cloud into Lila's hand. "Take this. Whenever you miss cloud swimming, just hold it tight and imagine your way back here."
That night, Lila swam home through the starry sky, her heart full of adventure. She'd discovered something wonderful: being a spy meant watching out for others, even gentle bulls carrying sunshine, and sometimes the smallest swimmers could make the biggest splashes.
