The Cloud Dog's Golden Gift
Lily loved running through the meadow behind her house. Every morning, she'd race the wind, her brown hair flying behind her like a rippling brown river. But one day, something magical happened.
As Lily paused to catch her breath near the old oak tree, she noticed something peculiar. High above, a fluffy white cloud was slowly drifting down, down, down until it landed softly on the grass. But it wasn't a cloud at all — it was a dog! A dog made of the softest, puffiest white fur, like cotton candy brought to life.
"Hello," said the Cloud Dog, and its voice sounded like gentle breeze rustling through leaves. "I've been watching you running every morning. You run with such joy in your heart."
Lily's eyes widened with wonder. "You can talk? And you're a... cloud dog?"
"I'm a magical creature from the Sky Kingdom," the Cloud Dog explained, its tail wagging and leaving tiny sparkles in the air. "I grant special gifts to children who run with pure happiness. Would you like a gift?"
Lily nodded excitedly.
The Cloud Dog gently touched Lily's head with its soft paw. "From now on, whenever you're running, your hair will sparkle like sunshine. And anyone who sees it will feel happy too. But you must always run with joy in your heart — never with anger or unkindness."
That day, Lily ran home, and sure enough, her hair glimmered with golden sparkles. Her mother smiled when she saw it. Her grumpy neighbor, Mr. Peterson, actually chuckled. Even the scared cats on the street stopped running away and came to say hello.
But the best gift was her new friendship. Every morning, the Cloud Dog would appear, and they would run together — Lily's sparkly hair flowing and the Cloud Dog's fluffy white fur bouncing beside her.
Lily learned that joy is contagious. And she never forgot the magical lesson: when you do things with happiness in your heart, you spread that happiness to everyone around you.
Some days, if you look closely at the sky, you might still see a cloud shaped like a dog, watching over children who run with joy.
