The Cloud Bull's Secret

Maya sat under the swaying palm tree, her toes buried in warm sand. She sighed. Her parents were busy with their phones again, and she had nothing to do.

"I wish something magical would happen," she whispered to the ocean breeze.

Suddenly, her grandmother's old iPhone, which Maya used for games, began to glow. Not the usual screen light — a soft, golden shimmer like sunlight through honey.

Maya pressed her palm against the warm glass. WHOOSH!

She tumbled through clouds and landed in a meadow that smelled like sunshine and strawberries. And there, standing before her, was the most magnificent bull she had ever seen.

But this wasn't like any bull from a farm. His fur was made of fluffy white clouds, his horns were made of gentle rainbows, and his eyes sparkled like stars.

"Hello, Maya," the bull said in a voice like distant thunder. "I'm Barnaby, the Cloud Bull."

Maya's eyes widened. "You can talk?"

"I can do many things," Barnaby smiled. "I take children who use their imaginations on adventures. And you, Maya, have a wonderful imagination."

He lowered his giant cloud head. "Climb on. Let's show you what the world looks like when you really LOOK at it."

Maya scrambled onto Barnaby's back, holding onto his soft cloud fur. They soared into the sky!

Below, she saw not just houses and streets, but stories. A bakery where cinnamon swirl dreams were made. A library where adventures lived between pages. A park where children's laughter created sparkles that floated up to become stars.

"The world is full of magic," Barnaby told her. "Most people just forget to see it."

They landed back on the beach. The iPhone screen flickered and returned to normal.

Maya's parents looked up from their phones. "Did you have fun, sweetie?"

Maya smiled, pressing her palm to the sand. "Yes. The world is bigger than screens, Mommy. Much, much bigger."

That night, Maya showed her parents how to spot shapes in clouds. They found a cloud bull, a cloud dragon, and a cloud castle.

Barnaby winked at Maya from the sky. Sometimes, the best magic was right there all along — you just had to look up from your phone to see it.
