The Cat Who Winked Through the Phone

Lily loved three things: her cat Mochi, adventures, and her dad's old **iPhone** that he'd given her for games. But Mochi was the most special—a fluffy orange cat with the softest fur and the brightest green eyes, like fresh **spinach** from the garden.

One rainy afternoon, Lily was playing a game on her phone when something strange happened. Mochi jumped onto her lap and *winked* at her. Cats don't wink!

Suddenly, the **iPhone** screen swirled with rainbow colors, and Mochi's voice echoed from it: "Lily, come find me! I've discovered something magical!"

Lily's heart pounded. Mochi had never talked before! She grabbed her phone and followed the glowing trail it showed her—right up the tallest **palm** tree in her backyard.

"Climb me," whispered the palm tree, its leaves shimmering like silver stars.

Lily climbed higher and higher until she reached a hidden cloud kingdom. There she found Mochi, sitting beside a lonely dragon made entirely of **spinach** leaves.

"This is Spinach," Mochi said. "He's been alone for a thousand years. Everyone was afraid of him because he's green and leafy."

Spinach let out a sad, smoky sigh that smelled like a garden.

Lily sat beside him. "You're not scary," she said. "You're beautiful. Like a magical garden dragon." She touched his leafy scales, and they sparkled.

Spinach's eyes lit up. "You're my first **friend**."

"And you'll have many more," Lily promised. "I'll bring my friends to meet you. We can have picnics in the clouds!"

Spinach was so happy that he showered Lily with golden sparkles. When Lily climbed down the **palm** tree, Mochi curled up in her arms, purring.

"Thank you, Lily," Mochi whispered. "You taught me that the best adventures aren't about finding treasure—they're about making a **friend** who needs one."

That night, Lily fell asleep with Mochi beside her and her **iPhone** on the nightstand, glowing softly. She knew some adventures were real, some were magical, and the very best ones were both.

And every time she ate **spinach** after that, it tasted like friendship and magic.
