The Cat Who Tamed Lightning

In a cozy house at the edge of a meadow lived a curious orange tabby cat named Mango. Every afternoon, he'd curl up on the windowsill, watching the neighbor's bull graze peacefully in the field. Mango dreamed of adventure, but cats were supposed to sleep and chase mice—not dream of heroics.

One stormy evening, as rain pounded against the roof, a brilliant flash of lightning struck the thick electrical cable outside. The lights flickered and died, leaving Mango in darkness. But something magical had happened. When he touched his paw to his metal food bowl, tiny sparks danced between his toes. Lightning hadn't just struck the cable—it had given Mango a gift.

The next morning, Mango discovered he could summon tiny lightning bolts at will. At first he used them to make his cat toys float and spin, delighting the neighborhood children who watched through the fence. But that afternoon, he heard frightened mooing from the field. The neighbor's young bull had slipped into a deep ravine during the storm and couldn't climb out.

Mango rushed to the edge of the ravine. The bull looked up with big, scared eyes. Mango knew what he had to do. He closed his eyes and concentrated, summoning all the courage in his small heart. Orange sparks crackled around his fur as he called upon the lightning's magic.

Slowly, carefully, Mango created a staircase of glowing lightning bolts leading up the ravine wall. Each step shone like a tiny star, warm and safe to touch. The bull understood and stepped carefully onto each glowing platform, climbing higher and higher until he reached the top.

The bull nuzzled Mango gratefully, and from that day on, they became the unlikeliest of friends. Mango learned that true heroes come in all sizes, and even the smallest creatures can have the biggest hearts. And sometimes, the most magical gifts arrive when lightning strikes—transforming ordinary cats into extraordinary friends.
