The Cat Who Swallowed Moonlight
Midnight was a small black cat with bright green eyes and a very big curiosity. She lived in a cozy house with a girl named Lily, and every night while Lily slept, Midnight had her own adventures.
One evening, Midnight discovered something strange on Lily's desk. It was a shiny rectangle—an iPhone—that glowed like a piece of captured starlight. The cat sniffed it, and the screen suddenly lit up with dancing colors.
Midnight batted at the glowing lights with her soft paws. But what she didn't notice was the long cable dangling from the phone, swaying like a sleeping snake. In her excitement, Midnight became tangled in the cable, and somehow—NO ONE KNOWS HOW—the end of the cable plugged itself right into the moonlight streaming through the window!
Suddenly, the iPhone began to hum with magic. Tiny glowing butterflies fluttered out of the screen. Midnight's fur stood up with excitement as she batted at them, but instead of catching them, she found herself floating upward, pulled by the magical cable like a fish on a line!
Up and up she went, right through the window and into the starry night. The cable had become a bridge of silver light, and Midnight walked across it as gracefully as she walked along a garden fence. Below her, the whole world sparkled—houses twinkled like fireflies, and rivers gleamed like ribbons of silk.
At the end of the cable, she met the Moon Cat—a magnificent white cat with eyes like full moons. The Moon Cat told her, 'Curiosity is a wonderful gift, little one. But remember: the best discoveries are the ones we share with friends.'
The Moon Cat gave Midnight a special blessing—the ability to understand all creatures. Then, with a gentle purr, she sent Midnight sliding back down the silver cable, through the window, and right onto Lily's pillow.
When Lily woke up and found her cat curled beside her, she whispered, 'I had the most wonderful dream about you, Midnight. You were walking on moonlight!' And Midnight, who could now understand every word, rubbed her head against Lily's cheek and purred the most magical purr in the whole world.
From that night on, whenever Lily left her iPhone on the desk, Midnight would sit beside it, waiting for the silver cable to glow. But the real magic wasn't in the phone or the cable—it was in the friendship between a girl and her cat, and the wonderful adventures they shared together.
