The Cat Who Solved the Sphinx's Riddle

Luna was a small black cat with bright yellow eyes and the biggest heart in the neighborhood. Every night, she would sneak out of her cozy house to explore the world under the stars.

One evening, while chasing fireflies in the old park, Luna discovered something magical. Behind the oldest oak tree stood a tiny sphinx no bigger than a teacup! It had the body of a lion, the wings of a butterfly, and a wise face.

"Greetings, brave cat," the sphinx said in a voice like silver bells. "I am Cleo, guardian of the wishing pond. But someone has stolen my golden key!"

Luna's tail twitched with excitement. "I can help! What does the key look like?"

"It looks like a tiny fish made of pure gold," Cleo explained sadly. "Without it, the magical goldfish in my pond cannot grant wishes for children who need them most."

Luna knew exactly where to look. Earlier that day, she had seen a mischievous magpie carrying something shiny to its nest in the tallest tree. With a mighty leap, Luna climbed the branches, her paws sure and steady.

The magpie tried to fly away, but Luna meowed kindly, "Please, my friend. That key belongs to someone who needs it to help others."

Touched by Luna's gentle words, the magpie returned the golden fish key. Luna carried it carefully back to Cleo.

"Thank you!" the sphinx cried, dropping the key into the shimmering pond. Suddenly, dozens of glowing goldfish appeared, each one swimming in beautiful patterns.

"You have proven yourself true and kind," Cleo told Luna. "For your help, you may make one wish."

Luna thought carefully. "I wish that every child could have a friend as wonderful as the goldfish in your pond—someone who listens, helps, and never judges."

Cleo smiled, and the goldfish swam faster, sending waves of magic across the world. That night, children everywhere dreamed of finding a perfect friend, just like Luna had found in the sphinx and her magical goldfish.

From that day on, Luna visited Cleo often, and together they made sure kindness and friendship spread throughout the world.
