The Cat Who Sent Magic
Lily sat alone on the park bench, watching other children play. She had just moved to a new town and didn't know anyone yet. Her mom had given her an iPhone to stay in touch with old friends, but scrolling through photos made her feel even lonelier.
A sleek gray cat with bright green eyes hopped onto the bench beside her. Most cats would run away, but this one sat perfectly still, gazing at Lily's phone with unusual interest.
"You look like you need a friend," a soft voice seemed to whisper in Lily's ear. She looked around, but the only other living thing was the cat.
The cat dipped its paw toward Lily's iPhone, and suddenly the screen began to glow with golden sparkles. Messages appeared—but not normal text messages. They were pictures! A drawing of a sad girl on a bench, then the same girl with a smiling cat, then the girl playing with other children.
Lily gasped. The cat was sending her pictures through her iPhone! More images flowed across the screen: a girl named Mia who loved reading, twins Sam and Sofie who collected rocks, a boy named Leo who was also new in town.
"They're looking for friends too," the cat seemed to say. The final picture showed Lily herself, but she wasn't sitting alone anymore. She was laughing with all the children the cat had shown her.
"Go find them," Lily imagined the cat saying. The gray cat jumped down from the bench and looked back at her, flicking its tail as if to say "follow."
Lily slid off the bench and trailed after the magical cat. It led her straight to a group of children reading beneath a oak tree—the very children from her iPhone screen!
"Hi," Lily said quietly. "I'm Lily. I'm new here."
Mia looked up from her book and smiled. "I'm Mia! Do you like to read?"
Soon, Lily was showing them her favorite book app while the twins showed her their rock collection. Even Leo, who had moved from California just last month, sat beside her.
When Lily looked for the gray cat later, it was gone. But her iPhone showed one last picture—the cat winking, with tiny hearts floating around it.
That night, Lily's mom asked how she had made so many friends so quickly.
"A very special cat helped me," Lily said, touching her iPhone case. "Sometimes friends find you in the most magical ways."
And somewhere, a gray cat with green eyes purred, knowing exactly what she meant.
