The Cat Who Saw With Her Heart
Luna was a small black cat with bright yellow eyes and a very special gift. She could see things that other animals couldn't—like the tiny magical creatures that lived in Mrs. Green's garden, and the secret dreams that floated out of people's windows at night.
One autumn evening, Luna heard strange groans coming from the old barn at the edge of town. Most cats would have run away, but Luna was curious. She crept through the tall grass, her tail twitching with excitement.
Inside the barn, she saw something that made her fur stand up. A large bull was stumbling around, his eyes foggy and green, his movements slow and clumsy. The other animals called him a zombie bull and told scary stories about how he ate flowers and frightened the moon.
But Luna noticed something strange. The bull wasn't trying to scare anyone. He was trying to reach a beautiful moonflower that glowed in the corner of the barn.
The bull's name was Buster, and he wasn't a zombie at all. A magic spell had made him sleepy and confused, but his heart was still full of kindness. Every night, he tried to reach the moonflower because it reminded him of his mother's stories.
Luna knew what to do. She gathered three things: a dab of honey from the bees, a feather from a blue jay, and a sprinkle of morning dew. She mixed them together and whispered the magic words her grandmother had taught her.
Buster, Luna said softly, you're not alone anymore.
The bull's foggy eyes cleared. He looked down at the tiny cat and smiled. Thank you for seeing me, little friend.
Together, Luna and Buster became the best of friends. Luna would ride on Buster's back as they explored enchanted meadows. In return, Buster protected Luna from storms and carried her safely across rushing streams.
The other animals learned an important lesson: things that seem scary might just be misunderstood. And sometimes, the smallest creatures have the biggest hearts.
Every full moon, Luna and Buster still visit Mrs. Green's garden to watch the moonflowers bloom. And if you listen carefully on quiet nights, you might hear them giggling together—reminding everyone that friendship is the strongest magic of all.
