The Cat Who Saved the Zombie's Garden

Lily's cat, Mango, was no ordinary orange tabby. Every night at midnight, Mango would tap on Lily's iPhone screen until she woke up. One starry evening, Lily followed her whiskery friend out the bedroom window, into a world she'd never seen before.

In the middle of the neighbor's overgrown yard grew the most beautiful papaya tree Lily had ever imagined. Its leaves shimmered like silver, and golden fruits glowed with inner light. But nearby stood a lumpy, green creature—a zombie!

Lily wanted to run, but Mango rubbed against the zombie's leg, purring loudly. The zombie, whose name turned out to be Zara, had patchy hair and stitch-covered skin, but her smile was kind. "I'm not scary," Zara said softly. "I'm just lonely. This magical garden needs friends to keep it alive."

Zara explained that she hadn't always been a zombie. She was once a regular girl who loved gardening, until a clumsy wizard cast a spell that went wrong. Now she tended the enchanted papaya tree alone, because everyone was too frightened to visit. The tree's special fruit gave anyone who ate it the courage to follow their dreams.

Lily pulled out her iPhone and took a picture of Zara and the glowing papaya tree. "My friends need to see this," Lily said. She posted the photo with a message: "The kindest zombie I've ever met, and her magical garden!"

The next morning, children from all over the neighborhood came to visit Zara's garden. They learned that appearances don't matter—what's inside your heart does. Zara shared her papayas with everyone, and each child discovered new bravery within themselves. Mango became the garden's official guardian cat, sleeping peacefully among the shimmering leaves.

Lily learned that the best adventures happen when you're brave enough to look beyond first impressions. And every night, Mango still taps on her iPhone at midnight, just in case another magical friend needs help being discovered.
