The Cat Who Saved the Stars

Mittens was no ordinary cat. While other cats chased mice or napped in sunbeams, Mittens had a secret job. She was a spy—not the sneaky kind, but the friendly kind who watched over magical things in her neighborhood.

Every night, Mittens climbed the giant papaya tree in Mrs. Rivera's backyard. Its leaves shimmered with starlight that had gotten caught during the day. The papayas hanging there weren't just fruit—they were little lanterns holding dreams.

One evening, Mittens discovered something strange stuck in the papaya branches. It was a small, glowing rectangle—an iPhone someone had lost. Curious, she tapped it with her paw.

The screen lit up with a message: "The stars are fading! Help!"

Mittens' whiskers twitched. She knew what to do. Being a spy meant being brave. She climbed higher, paw over paw, until she reached the very top of the papaya tree. There, she saw them—tiny stars caught in the branches, looking sad and dim.

The iPhone showed her exactly what to do. With gentle paws, Mittens collected each star into the papaya fruit. The papayas glowed warmer and brighter, filling with rescued starlight.

"Thank you, Mittens," the iPhone seemed to say. The phone's flashlight beam shot up, up, up—carrying messages to the sky. The papayas released their stars, and one by one, they twinkled back into the night.

By dawn, Mittens had saved every single star. She curled up in the papaya tree, exhausted but happy. The owner of the iPhone would never know their lost phone had helped save the night sky.

And that, little ones, is why sometimes you see a cat staring up at a tree. They might just be spies, watching over the magic that keeps our world bright.
