The Cat Who Saved the Star Pyramid

Mittens was no ordinary cat. With fur the color of a fresh tangerine, she spent her days dreaming of adventure beyond her cozy windowsill. One stormy night, when lightning painted the sky in brilliant streaks, she noticed something glowing in her backyard.

A small pyramid made of golden light had appeared! Inside, she could see tiny zombie figures—gentle creatures with moss-green skin who looked more lost than scary. They were guardians of ancient stories, trapped away from their home.

"Are you hungry?" Mittens meowed, remembering the orange sitting on the kitchen counter. She dashed inside and returned with the fruit, sharing slices with each little guardian. As they ate, their sad expressions turned to smiles.

"We need to return to the Star Pyramid before dawn," the smallest zombie whispered, pointing to a faint light in the distance. "Or all the world's dreams will fade away."

Mittens knew what she had to do. Through the magical lightning-lit night she guided them, her orange fur glowing like a tiny lantern. When they reached the great Star Pyramid, she helped each guardian climb back to their rightful place among the stars.

As the first sunbeam touched the horizon, the pyramid faded into mist. But Mittens felt something warm against her collar—a tiny golden pyramid charm, and the knowledge that true friends come in all shapes, sizes, and colors.

From that night on, whenever lightning flashed across the sky, Mittens would purr, knowing her friends were safe among the stars, watching over the dreams of children everywhere.
