The Cat Who Saved the Sleepy Stars
Lily's cat Mochi was no ordinary pet. With fur like melted marshmallows and eyes the color of emeralds, Mochi had a secret—she could see magic everywhere.
One rainy afternoon, Lily found her grandmother's old iPhone in a dusty box. When she turned it on, a strange game appeared: Zombie Star Rescue. The screen showed tiny gray stars with droopy faces, drifting through space.
"They look so lonely," Lily whispered.
Mochi meowed loudly and patted the screen with her soft paw. Suddenly, the iPhone glowed golden! A sparkly beam shot out, wrapping around Mochi and Lily, pulling them INTO the phone.
They landed on a fluffy cloud planet. Hundreds of gray stars flopped around like sleepy puppets.
"We're the zombie stars," one moaned. "We forgot how to shine."
Mochi trotted over and purred so loudly that the ground vibrated. The gray stars perked up. Lily began to hum, and Mochi danced in circles, chasing her tail.
The stars giggled. One by one, they started glowing again—pink, blue, silver, gold! Their zombie grumpiness melted away.
"Thank you!" cheered the brightest star. "You remembered something important—happiness wakes up the magic inside everyone!"
Mochi purred proudly as Lily hugged all the newly shining stars. When they returned to Lily's room, the iPhone showed a perfect score: ALL STARS RESCUED.
That night, real stars outside Lily's window twinkled extra brightly. Mochi curled up beside her, both of them smiling.
Sometimes, Lily thought, the best magic doesn't come from phones or games. It comes from a cat's purr, a friend's laughter, and remembering that even the grumpiest, sleepiest souls just need a little joy to shine again.
