The Cat Who Saved a Star
Luna was a small black cat with bright green eyes and a very big curiosity. Every night, she would sneak to the old pond behind her house to watch the stars dance on the water's surface. One evening, something strange happened.
A glowing creature crawled out from the pond's edge. It was pale and droopy, moving slowly like it was waking from a very long nap. Luna's fur stood up, but she didn't run away. The creature looked sad, not scary.
"I'm a zombie star," the creature sighed, dripping with shimmering water. "I fell from the sky three hundred years ago. I've been trying to climb back up ever since."
Luna had never heard of a zombie star, but she could feel its loneliness. She approached slowly and touched her nose to the star's cool surface. In that moment, something magical happened.
"I'll be your friend," Luna meowed softly. The star glowed brighter at her words.
Together, they hatched a plan. Luna climbed to the highest branch of the ancient oak tree, while the zombie star gathered all its remaining magic. With a burst of sparkly light, the star floated upward—but it wasn't strong enough to reach the sky.
Luna had an idea. She called all her forest friends: the fireflies, the crickets, even the sleepy owls. They formed a chain of living light, reaching higher and higher. The zombie star used their light as a staircase, climbing step by step.
When it finally reached the night sky, the star blazed brighter than all others. From that night on, Luna's special friend twinkled down from above, sending magical dreams to anyone who looked up with an open heart.
Luna learned something important that night: even the smallest creature can make a big difference, and true friendship can help anyone shine again.
