The Cat Who Rode the Moon Cable
Luna was a small tabby cat with fur like silver moonlight. She lived with Milo in a house at the very top of Star-Dust Mountain. Every night, Luna would sit by the window, watching something Milo couldn't see.
One evening, Milo followed Luna as she trotted into the forest. He found her standing before an ancient oak tree, where a shimmering golden cable stretched from the branches all the way up to the moon itself.
"The Moon Cable," whispered a deep voice behind him. Milo turned to see the biggest, gentlest bull he had ever imagined. His coat was like storm clouds, and his horns were carved with glowing stars.
"I'm Barnaby," the bull said kindly. "I guard the cable. Only the pure of heart may ride it."
Luna meowed excitedly and leaped onto the golden cable. To Milo's amazement, she began running across it—paw over paw, graceful as moonbeams—climbing higher and higher into the night sky.
"Wait!" Milo called. "She'll fall!"
"Trust in courage," said Barnaby. "Some journeys must be taken alone."
Milo watched with his heart in his throat as Luna reached the moon. Moments later, she returned, carrying something in her mouth—a small, glowing pouch. She dropped it at Milo's feet.
Inside were moon-dust cookies that made you float when you ate them.
"The moon gives gifts to those who dare to dream," Barnaby rumbled softly. "Luna saw the cable because she believed in magic. You see it now because you followed her with faith."
That night, Milo, Luna, and Barnaby sat together under the stars, sharing moon-dust cookies and floating just above the ground, laughing into the darkness. Milo learned that the most wonderful discoveries come from following those who see the world differently—and sometimes, the smallest creatures have the biggest adventures.
From then on, whenever Luna sat by the window, Milo knew: magic was waiting, and all they had to do was be brave enough to reach for it.
