The Cat Who Rode Lightning
Milo was a small orange cat with very big dreams. While other cats spent their days napping in sunbeams, Milo spent his days watching the sky, especially during storms.
One evening, as dark clouds gathered above the village, Milo spotted something peculiar. High in the sky, the great Taurus constellation seemed to wink at him. The bull's starry eyes twinkled with secret messages.
"Tonight's the night," whispered Milo to himself.
He grabbed his favorite toy—a miniature golden padel his owner had brought from a magical vacation. Little did anyone know, this wasn't just any paddle. It had once belonged to a cloud wizard!
When the first bolt of lightning crackled across the purple sky, Milo raised his magical padel and caught the spark like a butterfly. The lightning wrapped around his tiny paws, warm and tingling, like honey made of stardust.
"Hold on tight!" bellowed the starry bull from above.
Suddenly, Milo was flying! He zoomed through the clouds, surfing on lightning. The wind ruffled his orange fur as he whooshed past startled birds who'd never seen a swimming cat through the sky before.
"Look at me go!" Milo cheered, doing flips and twirls. "I'm the first cat ever to ride lightning!"
But the lightning was fading. Soon, Milo would fall. The starry bull below saw this and lowered its mighty horns, catching Milo gently.
"You were brave, little one," the bull said. "But true magic isn't just about catching moments of excitement. It's about using them to help others."
Milo looked down and saw the village in trouble—a flooded river was rising toward the schoolhouse.
Without hesitating, Milo raised his paddle again, catching a final lightning bolt. This time, he didn't use it for fun. He channeled the energy into the sky, creating a brilliant light that guided the villagers to safety in the dark storm.
As dawn broke, Milo landed softly in his own backyard, his paddle now glowing with rainbow hues from all the good it had done.
The starry bull winked once more before fading into the morning light.
Milo curled up for a well-deserved nap, dreaming of his next adventure. Some cats chase mice. Milo? Milo chased lightning—and sometimes, he caught it.
