The Cat Who Pitched Stardust
Oliver was too shy to try out for the team. Every day after school, he'd sit behind the old **baseball** field, tossing pebbles at the fence while imagining himself as a hero. His **cat**, Marmalade—a fluffy orange tabby with emerald eyes—would curl beside him, purring as if she understood every dream.
One magical evening, as the sun painted the sky in tangerine stripes, Marmalade suddenly stood and meowed at something in the outfield. Oliver followed her to the old **orange** tree at the field's edge, its branches heavy with glowing fruit that seemed to hum with ancient secrets.
Suddenly, the ground trembled. From behind the tree stepped the most magnificent creature Oliver had ever seen—a giant **bull** with fur like midnight and constellation patterns shining on his coat. But this bull's eyes were gentle, full of stardust wisdom.
"Young dreamer," the bull rumbled softly, "I am Taurus, guardian of courage. I've watched you practice every day. Tonight, if you dare, I shall teach you to throw with your heart."
Oliver's hands trembled as he reached for the ball. But Marmalade rubbed against his legs, and something about her steady purr made his fear melt away. He threw the ball—and it streaked through the air like a comet!
"You see?" Taurus nodded approvingly. "True magic isn't in being perfect. It's in showing up, even when you're scared."
Suddenly, Oliver's **iPhone**, which had been sitting in the grass, began to glow. On its screen appeared a message: *Believe in yourself, and others will too.* The phone had captured something impossible—photographs of Oliver throwing pitches that left trails of stardust, with Taurus and Marmalade watching proudly.
The next morning, Oliver tried out for the team. He wasn't perfect—he threw some balls wild, missed some catches. But he remembered the bull's words and kept going, heart shining. The coach saw his determination and smiled.
"You've got courage, kid. You're on the team."
That evening, Oliver returned to the orange tree with Marmalade. The grass showed no sign of last night's magic. But as he held up his phone, he saw the stardust photographs, and Taurus's constellation winked in the twilight sky. Oliver realized the real magic wasn't in meeting magical creatures—it was the courage that had bloomed inside him all along.
