The Cat Who Opened Worlds

Lily's cat, Whiskers, was no ordinary pet. Every time Lily picked up her old **iPhone** to play games, Whiskers would tap the screen with his paw, and something magical would happen.

One rainy afternoon, Whiskers tapped the screen three times—*tap, tap, tap!*—and suddenly Lily wasn't in her bedroom anymore. She stood in a land where the sky swirled with colors like rainbow cotton candy.

Before her rose a magnificent crystal **pyramid**, sparkling with light that changed from blue to pink to gold. A gentle giant appeared—a massive bull with fur like a fluffy cloud and horns that glowed like moonbeams.

"Welcome, small friend," the bull said in a voice like warm honey. "I've been waiting for someone brave enough to visit."

Lily's knees trembled, but Whiskers purred loudly, rubbing against her legs. The cat wasn't afraid at all!

"This is the Pyramid of Wishes," the bull explained. "Inside, every dream comes true. But only those who bring a friend may enter."

Lily looked down at Whiskers. "You're my best friend," she whispered, scooping him up.

Together, they stepped through the crystal walls. Inside, Lily saw something amazing—every dream she'd ever had floated around her like glowing bubbles. Dreams of flying, of exploring space, of making everyone happy.

The bull smiled. "Choose one, and it will be yours."

But then Lily noticed Whiskers wasn't looking at the dreams. He was staring at a corner of the pyramid, where a tiny, sad dream pulsed with dim light—the dream of someone else being lonely.

"I don't want my dream," Lily said suddenly. "I want that one. I want everyone to have a friend like Whiskers."

The bull's eyes twinkled like stars. "You chose the truest wish of all."

*Whoosh!* Lily was back in her room, Whiskers curled on her lap. But something was different. Through her window, she saw new neighbors moving in next door—a girl her age, looking lonely and shy.

Lily grabbed her **iPhone** and tapped the screen. Whiskers purred as she typed: *Want to come over? I have the best cat in the world.*

Sometimes, the best magic isn't in crystal pyramids or glowing bulls. It's in sharing your friends with someone who needs them.
