The Cat Who Made Magic Pools

Lily loved spending summer days in her backyard, especially when her orange tabby cat, Mango, was nearby. One hot afternoon, while Lily sat beneath the tall palm tree swaying in the breeze, something extraordinary happened.

Mango, usually lazy and sleepy, suddenly perked up her ears and trotted over to where Lily sat. The cat gently pressed her velvety paw against Lily's open palm. Instead of the usual soft purring, tiny golden sparkles danced from their touching hands and swirled toward the ground.

Before Lily's eyes, the sparkles formed a shimmering pool no bigger than a dinner plate. But inside that tiny pool, she could see whole worlds! She saw forests with candy-cane trees, oceans made of strawberry soda, and mountains of fluffy cotton candy.

"What is this, Mango?" Lily whispered, her eyes wide with wonder.

The cat simply purred and tapped her paw again. This time, a second pool appeared, showing a kingdom where it rained marshmallows and snowed confetti. Lily realized that Mango was a magical cat who could create wonder-pools!

Every day that summer, Mango showed Lily new magical pools. Some revealed talking animals having tea parties. Others displayed castles built of giant books where stories came alive at night. Each pool was more amazing than the last.

But the most special pool appeared on the last day of summer. When Mango touched Lily's palm one final time, a pool formed showing something wonderful—Lily herself, reading stories to children who looked just like her friends from school.

"I understand now," Lily said, hugging Mango tight. "The magic isn't just in the pools. It's in sharing wonder with others."

From that day on, Lily became the storyteller of her school, sharing amazing tales that made everyone believe in magic. And sometimes, just sometimes, when she least expected it, Mango would appear and give her paw a little tap, reminding Lily that the best magic lives in kindness and imagination.

The palm tree still swayed in the backyard, and ordinary puddles still appeared after rainstorms. But Lily knew that true magic wasn't about what you could see—it was about what you could share with others.
