The Cat Who Loved Padel
Luna was a small orange cat with the fluffiest hair in the neighborhood. She lived behind the community pool, where she would watch children play all summer long. But Luna didn't want to swim. She wanted to play padel.
Every afternoon, the children gathered at the padel court. Luna would sit on the fence, her golden eyes following the bouncing ball. She dreamed of joining them, but cats don't play racquet sports. Or do they?
One day, a new family moved in next door. They had a gentle bull named Barnaby who had escaped from a farm and become their pet. Barnaby was huge but kind, with soft brown eyes and a patient nature.
"You want to play padel?" Barnaby asked Luna one sunny morning. "I could help you."
Luna's tail twitched with excitement. "But I have no thumbs for holding the racquet!"
Barnaby lowered his massive head. "Climb onto my horns. I'll be your racket, and you can be my eyes. We'll play together!"
The pool gleamed behind them as Luna scrambled onto Barnaby's head. When the children arrived, they gasped in wonder. A cat riding a bull? And they wanted to play padel?
"Let us play!" shouted a girl named Sofia. "Luna can be on my team!"
And so the most magical game of padel began. Barnaby's gentle movements sent the ball flying. Luna directed him with tiny paw movements. They weren't the fastest players, but they were the most joyful.
When Luna finally slid off Barnaby's head into the cool pool, everyone laughed. The bull waded in too, creating the biggest splash ever.
That summer, Luna learned something wonderful: friendship means finding creative ways to include everyone. Even a small cat and a giant bull could play together.
And every evening, Luna would groom her damp hair, purring as Barnaby watched the moon rise over the pool, ready for tomorrow's adventure.
