The Cat Who Knew Magic

Lily's cat Whiskers was no ordinary pet. Every night at midnight, Whiskers would tap his paw against Lily's iPhone, making the screen glow with swirling purple light. One Tuesday, Lily decided to follow him.

"Wait!" she whispered, grabbing her iPhone as the screen turned into a sparkly doorway. She stepped through and found herself in a magical forest where trees were made of candy canes and rivers flowed with strawberry milk.

A boy named Max appeared from behind a giant mushroom. "I've been waiting for you!" he said, becoming her first real friend in this enchanted world. "The Star Bull needs our help!"

Max led Lily to a clearing where a magnificent bull with constellation markings stood guard over a sleeping sky. "He protects the stars," Max explained, "but tonight the zombie stars are trying to wake up too early!"

Lily gasped. Little glowing figures with sleepy eyes were stumbling across the sky—zombie stars that hadn't finished their hundred-year nap! They were bumping into each other like grumpy toddlers.

The Star Bull looked worried. "If they wake up now, they'll be too tired to shine properly. Children won't have enough wishes tonight!"

Lily held up her iPhone. It still glowed with magic. "Whiskers showed me this gives courage when you believe in yourself." She pressed the screen, and golden music floated out, wrapping around each zombie star like a warm blanket.

The zombie stars stopped stumbling. One by one, they curled back into their cloud beds, their glow becoming soft and peaceful again.

The Star Bull nodded gratefully. "You two saved the night sky." He lowered his magnificent constellation head. "True friends are braver than any darkness."

When Lily returned through the iPhone portal, Whiskers was curled on her pillow, purring. But now she understood—her cat had known she needed magic to discover her own courage. And sometimes, the best adventures come from being a good friend to someone who needs help, even if they're zombie stars or a lonely boy in a candy forest.

That night, Lily made two wishes on the brightest stars: one for Max, and one for Whiskers, the cat who taught her that magic lives inside everyone brave enough to believe.
