The Cat Who Hit Home Runs

Lily loved baseball more than anything. Every day after school, she'd grab her glove and run to the park, but she always struck out. One afternoon, she sat crying on the bench when a fluffy orange cat hopped beside her.

"Why the tears, friend?" the cat asked.

Lily rubbed her eyes. "You can talk? And I'm sad because I'm terrible at baseball."

"I'm Whiskers," said the cat. "I know a secret about baseball. It's not just about practice. It's about believing in yourself. Here." He nudged a shimmering blue vitamin toward her. "This is a courage vitamin from the Magic Moon Garden. One bite, and you'll believe anything is possible."

Lily hesitated, then swallowed the vitamin. Suddenly, she felt warm and brave, like sunshine inside her heart.

"Now hit the ball!" Whiskers cheered.

Lily stepped up to the plate. The pitcher threw. She swung with all her might, and the ball sailed over the fence—her first home run ever!

But when she turned to thank Whiskers, he was gone. Only a small note remained: "The magic wasn't the vitamin, Lily. It was your courage all along. Believe in yourself, and you'll never need special powers."

Lily smiled. She realized that friendship comes in many forms, and sometimes the best magic was inside her all along. From that day on, she hit home runs not because of special vitamins, but because she believed she could.
