The Cat Who Found a Star-Cable

Lily was lonely. She had just moved to a new house, in a new town, where she didn't know anyone. Her only companion was Mochi, her fluffy orange cat with one ear that always tipped sideways like a curious question mark.

One rainy afternoon, while exploring the dusty attic, Lily discovered something strange peeking from behind an old wooden crate. It was a thick, shimmering cable—not like any ordinary wire, but one that seemed to glow faintly, as if tiny stars were trapped inside.

Mochi's ears perked up. The cat trotted over and batted at the cable with her paw. Instead of a dull thud, it made a sound like wind chimes dancing in a breeze. *Ding-dingle-ding!*

Curious, Lily gave the cable a gentle tug. It kept coming and coming, snaking through boxes and old furniture, leading out the attic window and up, up, up into the clouds!

"Come on, Mochi!" Lily whispered, her heart pounding with excitement.

She followed the magical cable out her window, balancing on the roof. To her astonishment, the cable stretched all the way to the moon! She took a deep breath, grabbed hold, and began to climb.

The cable hummed beneath her hands, warm and alive with magic. Mochi scrambled beside her, fearless and determined.

When they reached the moon, they found a small, silver-haired girl sitting all alone on a crescent bench, weaving cables from moonlight and dreams.

"I've been waiting for someone to find my friendship-cable!" the girl exclaimed with a smile as bright as a supernova. "I'm Luna, and I've been sending cables down for a hundred years, hoping someone would follow it."

"I'm Lily, and this is Mochi."

That day, Lily learned something wonderful: sometimes, the best friend you'll ever find is the one you have to be brave enough to reach for. And from that night on, whenever she felt lonely, she would find Mochi batting at that shimmering cable, ready for another adventure among the stars.

For even the longest cable begins with a single thread of courage—and an adventurous cat.
