The Cat Who Discovered Wonder Pool

Mango was no ordinary cat. While other cats spent their days napping in sunbeams, Mango spent hers dreaming of adventures. She had soft orange fur and the biggest green eyes any cat had ever seen.

One hot summer afternoon, Mango was running through Mrs. Willow's garden when she spotted something she'd never noticed before. Behind a clump of tall bushes sparkled the most beautiful pool she had ever seen. Its water shimmered like liquid diamonds.

As Mango crept closer, she saw something amazing—a tiny goldfish swimming near the surface, but this wasn't an ordinary goldfish. Its scales glittered with rainbow colors, and when it spoke, Mango almost fell into the water!

"Hello, little friend," said the goldfish. "I've been waiting for someone curious enough to find me."

Mango's whiskers trembled with excitement. "You can talk?"

"I'm Gilbert, the Wishing Goldfish," the fish replied proudly. "Once every hundred years, I grant one special wish to someone pure of heart."

Mango thought carefully. She could wish for endless treats, or a cozy bed, or even to be the queen of all cats. But then she remembered her lonely neighbor, a little girl named Lily who had just moved to town and hadn't made any friends yet.

"I wish," Mango said bravely, "that Lily would find the best friend ever—someone who will share adventures, make her laugh, and never let her feel lonely again."

Gilbert's scales sparkled brighter than ever. "That is the kindest wish anyone has ever made!"

Suddenly, the pool's water swirled into golden mist. When it cleared, Mango found herself lying beneath the tall palm tree at the edge of the garden. But something magical had happened—Lily was sitting there too, and when she saw Mango, her face lit up with joy.

"Oh, what a beautiful cat!" Lily exclaimed, gently petting Mango's soft fur. "Will you be my friend?"

Mango purred so loudly that the palm leaves seemed to dance. She had discovered something more wonderful than any wish: the magic of friendship, and the joy of making someone else's dreams come true.

From that day on, Mango and Lily were inseparable, having all sorts of adventures together. And sometimes, when they visited Mrs. Willow's garden, they could still see rainbow sparkles beneath the water's surface—Gilbert's way of reminding them that kindness is the greatest magic of all.
