The Cat Who Danced with Stars

catbullpadelfriend

Luna was a small black cat with white paws that looked like she'd stepped in moonlight. Every night, she sat on her windowsill watching the stars twinkle, wondering what they'd feel like if she could touch them.

One midnight, something magical happened. Luna leaped at a shooting star, but instead of landing back on her windowsill, she kept going—up, up, up until she was walking on clouds of sparkling dust.

"Hello, little one," rumbled a deep, gentle voice. Luna turned to see a magnificent bull made entirely of golden starlight, his horns glowing like crescent moons.

"I'm Taurus," he said sadly. "I guard the edge of the galaxy, but no one ever visits. Everyone says I'm too big and scary."

Luna's tail twitched with excitement. "You're not scary at all! You're beautiful! Want to play padel?"

"Padel?" Taurus's starry eyes brightened.

"It's my favorite game!" Luna bounded over to a patch of nebula clouds. "We can use this comet as a ball!"

The cosmic game began. Luna leaped and twirled, batting the glowing comet back and forth. Taurus caught it gently with his glowing horns and returned it with surprising grace. The bull laughed—a sound like wind chimes—as he realized he'd never had this much fun in all his millennia.

More stars gathered to watch. The moon herself smiled down as cat and bull played their magical game across the velvet sky.

"I've been so lonely," Taurus admitted as they finally rested on a silver cloud. "Thank you for seeing me, Luna. Not just for what I look like, but who I am."

Luna purred and curled up beside her new friend, her white paws glowing against his golden shoulder. "That's what friends do—they see with their hearts, not their eyes."

And every night since, if you look carefully at the constellation Taurus, you might see a small cat dancing among his stars, playing their eternal game of cosmic padel, proving that the best friendships come in the most unexpected sizes.
