The Cat Who Could Fly

Lily pushed the green mound around her plate. 'I don't want spinach,' she grumbled. Under the table, Whiskers the cat purred and rubbed against her ankles. Lily giggled and slipped a leaf down to him. Whiskers gobbled it up happily.

Suddenly, something magical happened. Whiskers began to float! His paws left the ground as he bobbed gently upward. Lily gasped as her cat drifted toward the ceiling, his orange fur glowing softly. 'Spinach makes you fly!' she whispered in wonder.

Whiskers purred and floated out the open window, with Lily chasing after him. They found themselves in a meadow where a large black bull sat alone. The bull looked sad, his big brown eyes filled with tears.

'Hello,' said Lily bravely. 'I'm Lily, and this is Whiskers.'

The bull sighed. 'I'm Barnaby. I'm stuck here because I'm too heavy to cross the muddy river to visit my friend the cow.'

Lily looked at the spinach in her pocket, then at Whiskers floating above. An idea sparked! 'Maybe spinach can help Barnaby too!'

She fed Barnaby some leaves. Nothing happened at first. But then, slowly, Barnaby's hooves began to lift. The big bull gasped as he floated into the air, surprised and delighted. Together, Whiskers and Barnaby drifted across the river while Lily cheered below.

That day, Lily learned something wonderful: sometimes the things we think we don't like can become magical when we share them with friends. And Barnaby learned that being different doesn't mean you can't find your own way to fly. From then on, Lily loved spinach, Whiskers became friends with a bull, and all three had amazing adventures together.
