The Cat Who Collected Stars
Luna was a small black cat with bright yellow eyes, who lived at the edge of a tiny village. Every night, she would sit on her favorite fence and watch the stars twinkle above. Oh, how she wished she could catch one!
One evening, an old woman walked by wearing a peculiar purple hat covered in silver moons. The hat bobbed and wobbled as she walked, and something fell from its brim—a perfect, round papaya that glowed with soft golden light.
"Oh my!" the woman exclaimed. "My moon papaya!"
Luna's eyes widened. She had never seen a papaya that glowed before. Curiosity pouncing in her chest, she padded over and nudged the magical fruit with her nose.
"Would you like to help me find my friend?" the old woman asked kindly. "This papaya was meant for him, but I'm afraid I'm too old to chase after it."
Luna meowed softly and carefully picked up the glowing papaya in her mouth. It smelled like sunshine and dreams.
Together, they walked to a small cottage at the end of the lane. Inside sat a lonely boy named Oliver, who looked out his window at the stars every night, wishing for someone to share them with.
When Luna placed the magical papaya on his windowsill, it burst into tiny sparkles that danced around the room.
"Thank you, thank you!" Oliver cried, hugging Luna gently. "I've been so lonely. Will you be my friend?"
Luna purred loudly and curled up beside him.
That night, the old woman's purple hat tipped as she smiled from outside. The papaya's magic had done its work—bringing together two hearts who needed each other.
And from that day on, Luna, Oliver, and the old woman would sit together under the stars, sharing stories, laughter, and sometimes, magical papayas that made wishes come true.
Luna had caught a star after all—a friend named Oliver.
