The Cat Who Chased Stars
Midnight was a cat with fur as black as the night sky and eyes that shone like tiny moons. She lived in a cozy cottage by the sea, but her favorite place was the rocky beach where the waves kissed the sand.
One summer evening, when the moon hung low and silver, Midnight discovered something amazing. The ocean was filled with swimming stars! They darted through the water like little fish made of light, their glow turning the waves into a river of magic.
But the stars were in trouble. A grumpy old bull named Barnaby kept charging into the water, his heavy hooves splashing and scattering the star-fish. Barnaby didn't mean to be mean—he was just lonely and didn't know how to make friends.
Midnight watched from the rocks, her tail twitching. She knew what to do. Instead of hissing or scratching, she padded quietly toward Barnaby and rubbed her soft head against his leg. The bull froze, surprised by the gentle touch.
"Look," Midnight seemed to say with her golden eyes, leading Barnaby to where the swimming stars gathered in a quiet cove. Together, the cat and the bull sat side by side, watching the magical creatures dance through the waves. Barnaby's heavy breathing softened, and for the first time, the lonely bull smiled.
That night, under the watchful moon, a grumpy bull learned that gentleness is stronger than anger, and a clever cat learned that kindness can turn enemies into the best of friends. And somewhere deep in the ocean, the swimming stars twinkled brighter than ever, knowing they had new friends watching over them.
From then on, whenever the moon was full, you could see them together—Midnight perched on Barnaby's back, both of them gazing at the water, guardian friends to the magical swimming stars.
