The Cat Who Caught Stars

Lily's cat Muffin wasn't ordinary. Oh no—this ginger tabby with the fluffiest hair in the neighborhood had a secret. Every night, when the moon rose high and silver, Muffin would creep to the backyard and catch falling stars in her paws.

One evening, Lily followed her friend Muffin outside, clutching her dad's old iphone. She wanted to take pictures of whatever magic her cat was up to. What she saw made her gasp!

Muffin stood on her hind legs, batting at glowing streaks of light that zipped through the sky like fireflies. Each star she caught transformed into something wonderful—a marble that shimmered like galaxies, a feather that tickled with giggles, a button that smelled like fresh-baked cookies.

"Muffin!" Lily whispered. The cat froze, dropping a star she'd been juggling. It bounced once and landed near the fence—right next to an old, forgotten baseball.

Something extraordinary happened. The star touched the baseball, and suddenly it began to glow, float, and hum with rainbow colors. The baseball rose into the air, spinning and spraying sparkles like a tiny fireworks display.

"Whoa," breathed Lily. She raised the iphone and snapped a photo just as Muffin batted the glowing baseball back toward the stars. It sailed upward, trailing ribbons of light, until it became a new constellation that looked remarkably like a cat playing with a ball.

Muffin purred and rubbed against Lily's legs, her soft hair warming the girl's shins. In that moment, Lily understood—magic wasn't just about catching stars. It was about sharing them with someone you loved.

From that night on, Lily and Muffin became the best of friends, catching stars together and turning ordinary things into extraordinary wonders. And sometimes, if you look up at just the right moment, you might still see that baseball-cat constellation, winking down at dreamers everywhere.
