The Cat Who Caught Stars

Lily's cat Mochi was no ordinary kitty. While most cats chased mice or butterflies, Mochi had a peculiar habit—she loved to chase falling stars.

One warm summer evening, Lily sat in her backyard under the swaying palm tree, watching Mochi stare at the sky. The little cat's amber eyes sparkled with wonder.

"What do you see, Mochi?" Lily whispered.

Suddenly, something shiny fell from the sky and landed right in Lily's baseball glove that she'd left on the grass. It wasn't a ball at all—it was a tiny, glowing iPhone!

Mochi bounded over and tapped the screen with her paw. To Lily's amazement, the phone floated into the air and projected a map made of starlight.

"Follow me," the phone seemed to hum.

Hand in paw—well, paw in hand—Lily and Mochi followed the glowing path through their neighborhood, past sleeping houses and whispering trees. The map led them to an old oak tree where a cluster of stars was trapped in a spider's web.

"Help!" the stars twinkled sadly. "We fell and got stuck!"

Lily looked around. She needed something to reach them. Then she spotted her baseball glove nearby—she must have dropped it while running. She grabbed the glove and stood on Mochi's back.

"Jump, Mochi!"

The magical cat leaped with incredible strength, and Lily stretched out her glove. *SNAP!* She caught three stars just as Mochi landed gracefully beneath the palm tree's leaves.

The stars floated free, filling the night with rainbow sparkles.

"Thank you!" the stars sang. "For your kindness, we grant you one wish."

Lily looked at Mochi, who was now batting at a floating firefly. "I wish that every child could have a friend as wonderful as my cat."

The stars swirled around her palm and pressed their warmth against it, leaving a tiny star-shaped mark. "Granted," they whispered, then drifted back to the sky.

That night, as Lily curled up with Mochi, she noticed something magical—children everywhere were dreaming of finding their own perfect friendship. And somewhere, up in the stars, Mochi's constellation still chased new adventures.
