The Cat Who Caught Magic
Leo loved baseball more than anything. Every afternoon, he'd grab his worn-out glove and head to the park, dreaming of hitting the perfect home run. But Leo was small for his age, and the other kids always picked him last.
One sunny afternoon, as Leo sat in the grass feeling sorry for himself, a fluffy orange cat trotted up and dropped something at his feet. It was a small, shimmering bottle labeled 'Wonder Vitamin.' The cat's emerald eyes twinkled as if she knew something Leo didn't.
'Thank you, Miss Whiskers,' Leo said, scratching behind her ears. Her golden hair-like fur was the softest thing he'd ever touched.
His grandmother had told him stories about magical vitamins that could give anyone their heart's desire, but Leo had never believed them. Until now.
The next day, Leo took one tiny vitamin before his baseball game. Suddenly, he could see the spin of the ball before it left the pitcher's hand. He could hear his teammates' whispers of encouragement like magic spells. Most amazingly, Miss Whiskers appeared on the sidelines, her tail twitching with every good play.
Leo hit his first home run that day—a magnificent shot that sailed over the playground fence. But as he rounded the bases, he noticed something strange. The vitamin bottle was empty, yet he still felt magical.
'Was it really the vitamin?' he asked Miss Whiskers later. 'Or was the magic inside me all along?'
The cat simply purred and rubbed her head against his leg. Leo realized then that believing in yourself was the greatest magic of all. From that day on, he never needed another vitamin to feel brave, strong, and ready for any adventure—especially with his best friend by his side.
