The Cat Who Caught Lightning

Luna was a tiny black cat with one white paw, like she'd stepped in a cloud. Every night, she curled up beneath the old palm tree in her family's garden, its rough bark scratching her back just right.

But Luna had a secret. When lightning flashed across the sky, her fur stood up and sparkled. Not in a scary way—in a magical way. The other cats ran and hid during storms, but Luna watched with big yellow eyes.

One evening, the biggest lightning bolt Luna had ever seen struck the palm tree! CRACK! The whole tree glowed golden, and Luna felt herself being pulled up, up, up—right into the clouds!

She landed in a fluffy kingdom where lightning bugs carried tiny bolts on their backs. But something was wrong. The lightning was fading, turning gray and weak.

"Please help us!" cried a little bug named Zippy. "Our lightning keeper is sick, and soon all the storms will stop. No rain will fall. No flowers will grow."

Luna's white paw began to glow brightly. She realized—she had caught lightning's power!

"I'll help," Luna purred bravely. She chased each weak lightning bolt, batting it gently with her glowing paw until it sparkled bright again. She climbed cloud mountains and jumped over rainbow bridges, returning every bolt to its proper place.

When the last bolt shone strong, Zippy hugged Luna's nose. "Thank you, little friend. You proved that even the smallest creatures can do the biggest things."

Luna woke up beneath the palm tree as the sun rose. Her family picked her up, cuddling her close. "Where have you been, you silly cat?"

Luna just purred and touched her white paw to the palm tree, which winked back at her. Some secrets are best kept between friends.

From that day on, Luna wasn't afraid of storms anymore. She knew that being brave meant helping others, no matter how small you are.
