The Cat Who Caught a Star
Luna was no ordinary cat. Her fur was as black as midnight, with a single patch of white shaped like a star on her forehead. But what made her truly special was her hair—it stuck straight up with static electricity whenever she got excited, making her look like a little black dandelion.
One stormy evening, as lightning flashed across the sky like nature's fireworks, Luna spotted something glowing in the garden. A tiny sphinx no bigger than a teacup sat on the fence, its wings shimmering with rainbow light.
"You found me!" squeaked the sphinx. "I'm Sparkle, guardian of the Dream Cable. But oh dear—the cable is broken!"
Luna's hair stood on end with curiosity. She followed Sparkle to an old television cable that snaked through the garden. But this wasn't just any cable—tiny stars pulsed inside it like captured fireflies.
"This cable carries happy dreams from the moon to sleeping children everywhere," Sparkle explained sadly. "A squirrel chewed through it. Tonight, no one will have sweet dreams."
Luna knew what to do. She gathered every shiny thing she could find—spoons, foil wrappers, even her favorite jingle bell. With lightning flashing overhead, Luna wove these treasures around the broken cable, purring loudly to infuse it with magic.
Suddenly, the cable hummed to life. Stars streamed through it once more, shooting up into the clouds.
"You did it!" Sparkle cheered. "Your kindness fixed what broke. Every night now, you'll have the sweetest dreams of all."
From that night on, whenever Luna dreamed, she flew through starlight with Sparkle the sphinx, delivering happy dreams to children everywhere. And her white star patch glowed just a little bit brighter than before.
Moral: Even the smallest kindness can mend what's broken and light up the dark.
