The Cat Who Built a Pyramid
Lily was feeling lonely. She had just moved to a new house, in a new town, where she didn't know anyone. She missed her old bedroom and her old school.
One afternoon, while playing in her backyard, she spotted something peculiar. A sleek black cat with bright golden eyes sat on the wooden fence, watching her with what looked like a smile.
"Hello there," Lily said softly.
The cat meowed and hopped down, walking right up to her. Lily patted its head, and it purred like a tiny motor.
"I wish I had a friend here," Lily whispered. "Someone to share adventures with."
The cat's eyes sparkled. Suddenly, it reached out with one paw and tapped Lily's nose with its paw pad—*boop!*
Lily giggled. Then the cat did something strange. It started gathering blocks from Lily's toy box, stacking them carefully one by one. Tower, pyramid, tower, pyramid. It arranged them in a spiral pattern around Lily's feet.
"What are you doing?" Lily asked, fascinated.
The cat meowed proudly and nudged Lily's hand. Lily looked closer. The blocks formed a tiny pyramid, glowing faintly with golden light. Inside each block was a moving picture—Lily's favorite stuffed animals, her old house, even the cat itself.
"A memory pyramid!" Lily gasped.
The cat nodded. Then it nudged a blank block toward her. Lily understood. She closed her eyes and thought about what she wanted most in her new home.
She pictured herself laughing, playing, and sharing adventures. When she opened her eyes, the block showed something new—a girl her age, waving hello from next door.
"Is that my new friend?" Lily asked excitedly.
The cat purred and rubbed against her leg. That afternoon, Lily knocked on her neighbor's door and met Mia. They became instant friends, building pyramids together and going on adventures real and imagined.
And the magical cat? Well, it still visits sometimes. Lily learned that friendship can be found in unexpected places—and sometimes, all it takes is an open heart and a little bit of magic to build something wonderful.
