The Cat Who Brewed Courage Vitamins
Lily was the shyest girl in her class. Her brown **hair** always fell over her eyes when anyone talked to her. She wanted to make friends, but her words would hide like turtles in their shells.
One Tuesday, while Lily was brushing her teeth, a tiny orange cat appeared on the bathroom counter. He wasn't an ordinary cat—his fur shimmered like starlight.
"I'm Barnaby," said the cat. "And you, my dear, need a **vitamin** for your heart."
Lily gasped. "You can talk?"
"I can do many things," Barnaby winked. "Watch this."
The cat reached into the sink and pulled out a handful of bubbles. Each bubble contained a glowing liquid—blue, gold, pink. He handed one to Lily.
"What is it?"
"A bravery vitamin," said Barnaby. "One swallow, and you'll be **swimming** through conversations like a fish."
Lily drank the golden bubble. Warmth spread through her chest, like sunshine melting winter snow.
At school the next day, Lily saw a new girl sitting alone at recess. Her name was Mia, and she looked as lonely as Lily felt.
The bubble's magic bubbled in Lily's tummy. She walked over and said, "Would you like to play together?"
Mia's face lit up. "I was hoping someone would ask!"
They spent recess discovering they both loved drawing, astronomy, and making up stories about clouds. By the time the bell rang, Lily had made her first real **friend**.
That night, Barnaby appeared again. "Well?"
"It worked!" Lily hugged the magical cat. "But... I think I don't need any more vitamins."
"Why not?"
"Because now I know," Lily said, "that the real bravery was inside me all along. The vitamin just helped me find it."
Barnaby purred. "Exactly." And with a sparkle of starlight, he vanished.
Lily smiled, touching her hair and realizing she didn't need to hide behind it anymore. She had found courage, friendship, and a little bit of magic—all in one ordinary week that became extraordinary.
