The Cat Who Befriended the Moon-Flower Zombie

Luna the cat loved watching the children play padel through the garden fence. Every evening at sunset, she'd perch on her favorite wooden bench, her golden eyes wide as she followed the bouncing ball and the laughter of friends playing together.

One night, as the padel court grew quiet, Luna noticed something strange near the flower beds. A slow-moving shape shuffled through the shadows. It looked droopy and gray, like a walking cloud.

Luna's owner had warned her about the garden zombie. "Don't go near it, Luna. Zombies are scary."

But Luna was a curious cat. She crept closer, her fluffy tail twitching.

The zombie stopped and sighed—a sound like wind through dry leaves. "Hello, little cat."

Luna blinked. This zombie didn't seem scary at all.

"I'm Mo," the zombie said sadly. "I'm supposed to be a Moon-Flower Guardian. But I'm so tired. All the night blooms have wilted, and without me, they'll never open again."

Luna rubbed against Mo's leg, purring loudly.

Mo gasped. "You're not afraid?"

Luna meowed and trotted toward a patch of limp flowers, looking back expectantly.

Understanding dawned on Mo's face. The zombie followed Luna, who nosed each wilted bud gently. As Mo's fingers touched the flowers, they began to glow. Petals unfurled—silver and blue, shimmering like captured moonlight.

"I needed a friend," Mo whispered, "to remind me that even when things seem dead and gone, there's still magic inside them waiting to wake up."

Together, Luna and Mo spent the night bringing the midnight garden to life. Silver lilies. Moon roses. Star-glows.

The next evening, when the children came to play padel, they gasped. The garden sparkled with flowers that had never bloomed so beautifully.

Luna watched from her bench, purring as Mo bowed gracefully to amazed children who now waved excitedly at their friend the zombie.

Some things aren't scary at all—they're just waiting for someone curious enough to see the magic inside.
