The Cat Who Asked Riddles

Luna was a small black cat with bright yellow eyes, the color of sunshine. She lived in a cozy house by the sea, where she spent her days watching the goldfish swim in his bowl. His name was Finnegan, and he was no ordinary fish.

One morning, Luna woke to find Finnegan swimming through the air like a tiny orange rocket.

"I'm magical on Tuesdays," Finnegan said with a wink. "Come running with me! I want to show you something wonderful."

Luna's tail twitched with excitement. She jumped onto the windowsill and followed the flying goldfish outside, across the meadow where a friendly old bull lived.

"Moo!" called the bull, whose name was Barnaby. "Where are you two going on such a fine adventure?"

"To meet the Sphinx!" Finnegan bubbled.

Barnaby let them climb onto his broad back, and he carried them to the top of the highest hill. There, carved from stone, sat an ancient Sphinx with the body of a lion and the head of a wise woman.

The Sphinx opened one stone eye. "To pass, you must answer my riddle: What has fins but cannot swim, flies but has no wings, and teaches us that magic lives in the most unexpected friends?"

Luna thought hard. She looked at her flying fish friend, then at brave Barnaby.

"A goldfish on Tuesdays!" Luna meowed proudly.

The Sphinx smiled, and her stone face softened. "Correct. You three show the truest magic of all — friendship that sees beyond appearances."

That day, Luna learned something wonderful: the best adventures happen when you're brave enough to believe in impossible things, especially with friends who believe in you.
